I have a Fancy dress party to go to this saturday night and i have chosen the 60′s theme – thinking that would be easier than the others.

Im throwing a 50th birthday party for my mum and dad with a rock n roll 50s era theme. The party supplies would say 50 on it so it would go well with the theme plus its their age.
Its going to be like its in a diner so i was wondering what type of food and drinks should there be, decorations, etc. Any ideas? I was thinking about it being fancy dress, so how did they dress i the 50s/early 60s?

I’m attending a muder mystery dinner party on the 13th March. I’m looking for a costume but it’s proving difficult. Bare in mind, it’s set in 1967, and I’m 18 – so I dont know much about the fashion back then. Here’s the description for my character:

Tamara fara-Bucktooth: –
Famous for being famous. no social event would be complete without her presence. She’d also the current girlfriend of Lord Michael Jagged. Or was until his death….
Costume suggestion: Formal and Sophticated – a ball gown, full make up with frosty pink lipstick.

Ok – My dilemma is it’s quite hard to find fancy dress websites with ball gowns/evening dresses that are 60s style. I was thinking of wearing long gloves with it, would this be 60s style?

My sister’s costume suggestion is a long skirt and waistcoat but surely this isn’t 60s style?

Any help would be greatly appreciated…
